Registered Psychotherapist
Registered Psychotherapist
Do you feel lost amidst your emotions or overwhelmed by your past and would like to further explore these emotions? My goal is to assist you in navigating through these emotions, challenging experiences or traumatic events that may be impacting your current mental state.
Since life challenges are particular to your own experience, I will facilitate your path towards healing by creating goals that are relevant to you and aligned with your desired therapeutic outcome. I also ensure to create a safe space in my practice and develop a therapeutic alliance where respect, trust, and professionalism prevail.
My passion is helping adolescents and adults overcome a number of life challenges including anxiety, depression, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), neurodiversity (ADHD, ASD, other learning difficulties), self-esteem, grief/loss, stress management, relationship/martial struggles, transition and life-adjustment, post-immigration challenges, family dynamics and setting boundaries.
In my work with clients I tend to come from a holistic approach which includes Humanistic Therapy and Emotion-Focused Therapy. Other modalities that I often borrow from to personalize to my clients include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy.
Elly is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She has a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology (MACP) and a master’s degree in Education (M.Ed).
