Registered Psychotherapist Qualifying

Jenna is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master’s degree in Counselling and Spirituality from St. Paul University. She is part of the neurodivergent community and is a strong advocate for autistic involvement in groups/services that are meant to provide support or representation to the autistic community. As the saying goes: “nothing about us, without us.

Jenna has experience working with a broad range of human experiences, including social anxiety, LGBTQIA2+ issues, and low self-esteem. She specializes in perfectionism & people pleasing, struggles that come from living with Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome, spiritual anxiety, and identity confusion.

Jenna is trained to use an eclectic approach, as she believes that there is no “one size fits all” modality, and introduces approaches based on, and adapted to, what the client prefers and/or finds works best for them. The eclectic approach that she takes often draws on elements of Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment, and Psychodynamic therapy.

Jenna is also comfortable incorporating aspects of the client’s spirituality and/or religious beliefs into the therapeutic process.

Jenna’s primary goal is to create a a non-judgmental space where all aspects of life, no matter how taboo or shameful they may feel, are treated as a natural part of the human experience and considered worthy of the same level of compassion and support that is given to other aspects of life. Within her work, her main philosophy is illustrated by Maya Angelou’s quote: “when someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.
