Registered Psychotherapist Qualifying

It can be difficult to know how to begin the therapeutic process, or even how to find the right therapist. Sometimes you aren’t sure what you’re looking for in a therapist, only that you need support. Other times, you may know what you are looking for, but are unsure how to find it.

I work with people who are struggling with a variety of issues such as anxiety and mood disorders, trauma, life stress, and overwhelm. However, I have a special interest in working with those struggling with mental distress related to medical issues/trauma, infertility, and compulsive-related anxiety disorders. As a member of the 2SLGBTQI+ community, I also have a drive to help others within this community get the support that they need.

Trauma has become another area of focus of my practice and I am in the process of completing training in EMDR, a modality of therapy that is evidence-based and the gold standard treatment for trauma, big and small. As of February 1, 2024, I will be adding EMDR to my work and look forward to helping those stuck in their trauma responses to move through to the other side and live a life without being held back by their past.

I work with my clients to create an individualized treatment plan to help them achieve their personal therapeutic goals, which will be unique to every client. To do so, I draw from several different therapeutic modalities, including Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

I strive to provide a safe space where you feel comfortable sharing your honest thoughts, feelings, and feedback, so that you can receive the support you need.

Hailey is a Registered Psychotherapist with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Prior to getting her Master’s degree, she spent three years in medical school at the University of Toronto with the intention of working as a psychiatrist. While she ultimately decided that her passion lay in talk therapy, her time in the medical field gave her experience working with and assessing clients with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma experiences, and substance abuse, as well as an understanding of the Canadian medical system, particularly as it pertains to mental health. She has completed her training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy.
